Hay Castle Trust is a company limited by Guarantee (No: 07639471) and a registered Charity (No: 1144524). The Trust acquired Hay Castle in 2011 and is focused on revitalising and preserving the Castle and creating an economically and culturally vibrant centre for arts and education that will complement and support the market town of Hay-on-Wye and its environs, drawing visitors from around the world. The objects of the Trust are to: preserve the heritage of Hay Castle; encourage education about its architecture and history; build a local amenity to engage and inspire the community; provide opportunities for training, and create a cultural destination which will sustain the local economy. In addition to being a protected structure, Hay Castle is sited within the Brecon Beacons National Park. Hay Castle incorporates a Scheduled Ancient Monument, one Grade 1 listed building, a Grade 2 extension, and further Grade 2 listed buildings.
