II.2.4) Description of the procurement
This Lot is to establish an approved provider list for day opportunities, independent living and community services for adults, children and young people.
Providers who are interested in applying to be appointed must be able to provide the services detailed through:
a) Face to face contact
b) Visits/meetings throughout community venues across the City
c) Social networks/events/activities
d) Outreach services/groups
e) Support groups
f) One to one or group befriending
They must also be able to develop volunteering within the services.
The approved provider list will operate with the same principles of a framework but will remain open for new entrants in the market within Newport to be able to be appointed to it if they meet the criteria within. The approved provider list will be for a period of four years with a possible extension of one year.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
This Lot is to establish a contract for the provision of a dedicated day opportunities service for adults within Newport.
The service is to be provided between 10 am to 4 pm Monday to Fridays but also in the evenings and on the weekend. It is expected that the service will be provided to a minimum of 6 adults per day.
The current service has a base at Newport YMCA but providers can seek alternative provision that meets the requirements as set out in the Disability Discrimination Act 2005.
The service can be provided within the centre or in the community with a range of activities being available to users such as music, sports, cookery, etc.
The contract for this requirement will be for a three period with a possible extension of up to two years, year upon year.
