Abstract

The purpose of the requirement is to ensure that the water levels, drainage and flood risk are managed within the IDDs. Habitats need to be maintained and enhanced where possible. The timing of vegetation maintenance in the IDDs is planned so that it has minimal impact upon wildlife, maximises efficiency, best reduces flood risk and improves land drainage. The purpose of the requirement is to ensure that the water levels, drainage and flood risk are managed within the IDDs. Habitats need to be maintained and enhanced where possible. The timing of vegetation maintenance in the IDDs is planned so that it has minimal impact upon wildlife, maximises efficiency, best reduces flood risk and improves land drainage. The vegetation control work in and along the watercourses, is carried out in autumn and winter. The work will involve cutting the aquatic weed growth and the growth on the slopes of the channels. Localised de-silting of the channel bed may be required for certain watercourses at the specific request from NRW; this will be infrequent and make up a very small part of the work.
