Our joint Health and Care Strategy with Powys Teaching Health Board sets out clear priorities of our commitment to ensuring older people in Powys have access to a range of accommodation including sheltered housing, supported housing, extra care schemes, residential and nursing care.
As our elderly population increases, there will be more demand for suitable accommodation options across Powys. The Council will need to accommodate citizens within, or as close to, their local communities, whether that is in their own home, in sheltered housing or extra care accommodation, or a nursing home.
The Council are seeking to work with a range of partners to ensure our health and care environments meet future needs, providing choice, accessibility & co-ordinated services.
The Council currently owns 12 care homes across the county. With on-going public sector budget pressures.
The Council is looking to work with care providers to help shape and manage the nature of the Councils care homes that it owns.
We are seeking expressions of interest from investment partners who are creative, and keen to work with the Council to support the long term vision for a more economically, socially, and environmentally connected residential care market in the future.
The market consultation and sounding will inform future delivery for longer term transformation, this is your opportunity to shape future residential care commissioning in Powys.
The Council invites you to attend individual 1 to 1 meetings to discuss and test the options for future delivery as enclosed in the attached Prospectus.
The meetings will take place mid July 2018, at venues across Powys.
To register an interest and arrange to attend a meeting, please contact Jacqueline Jones, email: jacqueline.jones@powys.gov.uk or Tel: 01597 826801.
