Join us at the next Port Talbot Waterway Enterprise Zone event to be held in the Baglan Bay Innovation Centre on Friday 18thOctober between 9:00am – 11:00am. The event will consider what is LoRaWAN and the Internet of Things and how it can benefit your business. Superfast Business Wales will be providing an overview of how they can help you exploit Superfast Broadband in your business. There will also be a Brexit update from the Welsh Government Brexit team.
LoRaWAN is one of a number of Internet of Things (IoT) enabling technologies that offers businesses a simple, low cost, low maintenance means of connecting large numbers of “things” to the internet in order to get better, more timely data – for example locations of shipping containers in a port; the humidity and air quality in a “clean room” in electronics manufacturing; or if a farm gate is being opened in the middle of the night, and a new mini GPS system that sends a message if an asset is moved.
This can help transform business operations and deliver competitive advantage by improving reliability, better logistics, and more business intelligence. It can reduce downtime and increase productivity, and save time spent on inspections whilst improving the accuracy of the compliance records.
Peter Williams, from the Welsh Government’s Digital Infrastructure team will provide an overview of LoRaWAN technology, and Adrian Sutton from Vortex IoT will explain how his company has innovated and developed into one of South Wales’s leading IoT companies.
Superfast Business Wales will be providing an overview of how they can help you exploit Superfast Broadband in your business.
There will also be an update from the Welsh Government Brexit team discussing preparedness, including accessing information and how Welsh Government is working to support businesses in Wales.
This is sure to be an interesting and informative morning not to be missed! Please register now as we anticipate places filling quickly
