Lot 1 – Peat Works - NRW is intending to award a framework agreement to contractors that can raise and stabilise water levels and modify peat surfaces using a variety of methods that require low ground pressure, tracked excavators.
Lot 1 is divided into two areas. These are named Area A and Area B.
Bidders are free to bid for both areas or one of the areas. The value for this Lot is GBP2.2M
Lot 2 – Removal of invasive Scrub - NRW is intending to award a framework agreement to contractors that can remove unwanted scrub growth across the project’s sites. Woody tree species were not originally part of the natural vegetation cover of raised bogs, Project sites include, but are not limited to National Nature Reserves, land managed by NRW and other land (with access & permissions agreed with NRW).
All the sites worked on are environmentally sensitive and are legally protected at a National, European or International level for their wildlife interest.
The value for this Lot is GBP800K.

Lot 1 – Peat Works
NRW is intending to award a framework agreement to contractors that can raise and stabilise water levels and modify peat surfaces using a variety of methods that require low ground pressure, tracked excavators.
The methods proposed to achieve higher water tables and improved bog surface profiles are detailed below and include (but are not limited to);
- low elevation contour bunding (a recently developed technique in peatland restoration),
- re-profiling of high peat bunds,
- building and strengthening dams,
- re-profiling surfaces and inverting vegetation.
Lot 1 is divided into two areas. These are named Area A and Area B.
