Abstract

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is committed to ensuring patients deserve a consistent standard of care every time they receive treatment. This includes the provision of a safe and effective environment with minimal risk of equipment failure. It is important that the dental handpieces and related equipment are regularly serviced and maintained. This enables a safe working environment for staff and ensures that first-line maintenance tasks are understood and being carried out correctly. Some of the equipment that requires an annual servicing includes micro motors, hand pieces, sonic scalers and foot switches. The equipment is located at Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil, CF47 9DT (Oral Surgery and Restorative Department), and Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant, CF72 8XR (Oral Surgery). Please note that there are three different spreadsheets, an equipment list for each department: - Prince Charles Hospital - Oral Surgery - Prince Charles Hospital - Restorative Department - Royal Glamorgan Hospital - Oral Surgery COMPREHENSIVE MAINTENANCE The contractor shall provide a fully comprehensive service and repair (including all parts and labour) of all micro motors, hand pieces, micro consoles & foot switches specified within the equipment list. The equipment should be collected free of charge from the hospital and returned free of charge once serviced. A detailed service report form should be completed, and given to the point of the contact. Any further repairs as they arise without additional charges throughout the contract period. Loan equipment is to be provided where required to cover off-site repairs, delivered free of charge. Payment shall be made annually in advance.
