The ASTUTE EAST operation, College of Engineering in Swansea University seek tenders for an Industry 4.0 Interactive Learning System. The System will be operated, used and administered by Swansea University and partly in the context of the ASTUTE EAST operation.
The system is required to
- provide students with practical experience of Industry 4.0 to embed a deeper understanding through interactive problem based learning and teaching activity
- support research collaborations with companies as part of the ASTUTE EAST operation
- facilitate research activity between the higher education establishments of Sheffield Hallam, Middlesex, Newcastle, Liverpool John Moores and Manchester Metropolitan for future collaborations on research grants.
- integrate the Siemens Industry 4.0 curriculum across the teaching activities within Swansea University

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Industry 4.0 Interactive Learning System requires the integration of up to six manufacturing stages. The system needs to include an automated guided vehicle (AGV) for transportation. In addition, a pick and place robot and automated storage/retrieval system (ASRS) is required. The full system should be supplied by one provider who can demonstrate a track record of integrating similar systems within other higher education establishments. Also, the supplier must demonstrate that the system has already been developed to facilitate digital twin modelling on industry standard software platforms.
