VII.2) Information about modifications
VII.2.1) Description of the modifications
Extension of existing contract for a further 12 month period from 1 August 2020 to 31 July 2021, brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee in accordance with Article 72 of Directive 2014/24/EU and Regulation 72(1) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee
Description of the circumstances which rendered the modification necessary and explanation of the unforeseen nature of these circumstances:
Under PCR Regulation 72(1) (c) — the need for modification has been brought about by the outbreak of Covid-19, meaning that the University nor its intended market place have the resources to retender the contract in time for the required 3-month handover period, and that service requirements would be unknown. The modification does not alter the overall nature of the contract, and the additional cost does not exceed 50 % of the value of the original contract.
