II.2.4) Description of the procurement
This requirement involves the supply and delivery of a core and vac vehicle with a minimum gross weight of 7.5 t, with the potential to supply additional vehicles to carry out the same work within the geographic footprint of SGN's operations in both Scotland and England.
The vehicle is required to be built and delivered as a complete unit and we require the vehicle to be able to:
— core (minimum of 600 mm diameter and to a depth of 600 mm);
— vacuum excavate (the vacuum tank must have a minimum capacity of 1.5 cubic metres);
— carry out repairs;
— reinstate;
— carry all relevant tools and equipment to undertake this work.
In addition to the above, the vehicle must:
— be able to carry a minimum of 800 litres of water required for coring and jet washing;
— have a secure storage area to carry all additional tooling for core and vac work;
— be able to tow a trailer.
You must also consider the following safety and compliance related legislation:
— compliance with EU Machinery Directive [2006/42/EC Essential Health and Safety Requirements (EHSR's)];
— supply of machinery (safety) (amendment) Regulations 2011;
— provision and use of work equipment Regulations 1998;
— BS EN ISO 12100 + A1 2009;
— BS EN ISO 12100:2010 safety of machinery — general principles for design — risk assessment and risk reduction;
— declaration of conformity.
