For the purchase of upto 100 Oncotype DX tests from Genomic Health. These are used within Ocology Services to determine the benefit of using chemotherapy, in addition to hormone therapy for some oestregen receptor-positive breast cancers.
NICE has said that Oncotype DX is the only recommended test to help make decisions about chemotherapy after surgery.

The procurement falls outside the scope of application of the Directive
Explanation:
This is a specialist test to help make decisions about chemotherapy after surgery in some people with oestrogen receptor 2 positive (ER+), lymph node negative (LN-)and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 negative (HER2-)early breast cancer. The National Institute for Health & Care Excellence (NICE) have only recommended Oncotype DX for use in helping to make decisions with regard to chemotherapy treatment.
