II.2.4) Description of the procurement
NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, in conjunction with the International Consortium for Health Outcome Measurement (ICHOM), will shortly be embarking on a pioneering approach to procuring outcomes for Cataract Surgery across the Health Service in Wales. This ground-breaking approach to procurement will primarily focus on securing successful clinical outcomes for patients, along with improving the efficiency of our Ophthalmic Theatres and improving the overall patient experience. NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership is therefore inviting interested suppliers to attend a Supplier Event in Cardiff Bay during March 2017 in order to outline the background to the project and to provide suppliers with further details in relation to the proposed procurement exercise. This event will subsequently be followed by individual supplier meetings which will give interested suppliers the opportunity to ask questions to the Project Team and to gain a further insight into the direction of this exciting and innovative approach to procurement ahead of the launch of the OJEU Contract Notice later this year.
