Network Rail - Network Rail Wales has been operating as a standalone route now for over 4 years and has an annual operating budget of over £300m. The route covers 923 miles, operating right across the length and breadth of the country. The route is at the early stages of a 15 year modernisation plan that is going to bring vast improvements to the network and put Wales at the forefront of the modern railway age.
Network rail are looking for suppliers to Support their operations and maintenance division in Wales.
Due to the sheer volume of work we deliver, we have to rely on main contractors for the majority of our work. This doesn't mean however that network rail is closed for business to tier two suppliers.
Our attendance at this event is to assess the supply chain and see we're we can introduce new suppliers going forward.
We have attended this event for the last two years and have successfully awarded contracts to new suppliers valuing £2million per annum.
National Procurement Service (NPS) - The National Procurement Service (NPS) was launched in November 2013. The NPS was established to work on behalf of the wider public sector across Wales with the overriding objective to ‘Buy Once for Wales’ for common and repetitive spend. This is achieved on a category basis with seven teams responsible for delivering contracts and frameworks across a range of goods and services.

NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership - Procurement Services:
The role of Procurement Services is to provide a sourcing, supply chain, purchasing and accounts payable service to health boards and NHS trusts across Wales, while supporting the Welsh Government in the deployment of its procurement strategy and providing procurement expertise in specialist project areas. Teams across Wales also provide capital equipping services to the NHS. The sourcing work currently undertaken ranges from pharmaceuticals to food, through to utilities and medical consumables, while activities for the Welsh Government include supporting mental health services and the introduction of an All Wales Menu.
In addition to the operational activities of the teams, Procurement Services also delivers significant cost savings for health boards and NHS Trusts, while continuing to review its own operating processes and procedures to ensure that the service provided to its customers is both efficient and cost effective.

South Wales Fire & Rescue Service was formed on the 1st April 1996 and provides a service to the 1.4 million people living in its service area.

Trivallis:
At Trivallis we provide homes for thousands of families in Rhondda Cynon Taff. We offer support to help people manage their tenancies, We invest in communities to make them more attractive and we work hard to create training, volunteering and employment opportunities for local people.
RCT Homes Limited (RCTH) was established in 2007 as a Community Mutual Housing Association to receive the transfer of the social housing owned by Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council (RCTCBC). On the 29th of July 2016 RCT Homes rebranded as Trivallis Ltd, the Group structure involving GrEW, Meadow Prospect and Homeforce has also been collapsed.
Trivallis is one of the largest housing associations in Wales, with stock made up of 10,049 rented homes, 637 leasehold properties and 1,709 garages.
As well as being a landlord, Trivallis’ Rules commit the organisation to supporting the economic regeneration and development of local communities in Rhondda Cynon Taff. South & Mid Wales Collaborative Construction Framework (SEWSCAP) / South East Wales Highways Framework (SEWHF:
Rhondda Cynon Taf CBC are currently the host authority for two significant collaborative frameworks, South East and Mid Wales Constructions Framework (SEWSCAP) and South East Wales Highways Framework (SEWHF)
SEWSCAP
The second iteration of the SEWSCAP2 (Schools & Public Buildings) multi lot framework went through an OJEU compliant competitive procurement exercise and expiries 30th April 2019.
The original SEWSCAP framework was used primarily by local authorities as a route to market for the 21st Century Schools programme with a spend of £450m between 2011 and 2015. More recently, membership has grown to 12 Local Authorities with other member organisations such as the Fire Service and Further Education Organisations.
SEWSCAP 2 supports collaboration and a joint approach to best practice for school builds, public building works and renovations between clients, stakeholders, contractors and across Local Authority Boundaries. It has proven track record of delivery developing efficiencies through building works contracts such as standardisation of designs and use of products between authorities, promoting modern methods of construction, use of whole life costing, low to zero carbon building, early contractor involvement and reducing construction waste in line with Welsh Governments commitment.
SEWSCAP 2 has won various local and national awards, including Client of the Year Award.
SEWHF
The second iteration of the SEWHF Framework went through an OJEU compliant competitive procurement exercise and the framework value is estimated at £200m.
There are 12 lots covering varying geographical areas and has been extensively used by 10 authorities over the past 8 years.
The framework comprises of contractors with expertise in civil engineering and highways construction. The framework has developed good working practices with its stakeholders across the South East Wales Region to promote good practice, improve sustainability and added value through community benefits.
Community Benefits
The continuation of the SEWSCAP2 and SEWHF frameworks are key to encouraging framework contractors to deliver Community benefits across the South Wales region. To date these frameworks have key evaluation criteria that support the delivery and implementation of community benefits initiatives such as use of I-prentis apprenticeships schemes, schools visits, provision of free materials and labour, sub-contractor development, early payments
University of South Wales - The University of South Wales (USW) was formed in April 2013 by the merger of the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport. The university has over 30,000 students and over 2,500 staff making it one of the largest universities in the UK and a major regional university.
There is a wide range of purchasing for the university, which includes but is not restricted to; commodities for the estates department, ICT equipment and licences, stationary and one off specialised equipment to name a few.
There could be opportunities within our estates department, professional services e.g. translation services, printing and vehicle hire/transport.

Defence Suppliers’ Service:
The main role of the Defence Suppliers’ Service/Doing Business with the MOD Team is to act as the MOD focal point for the provision of advice and guidance to companies wishing to do business with MOD.
Although the Defence Suppliers’ Service does not place tender and contracts on behalf of MOD or source goods and services, I would be happy to have a brief discussion at the event with any companies wishing to do business with MOD and provide them, shortly afterwards, with the contact details of the MOD procurement teams that may have a possible interest in the goods/service the companies can offer. This will allow the companies to contact the MOD teams directly to discuss possible future business opportunities.
