Abstract

Wales National Pool Swansea (WPNS) has recently undertaken a partial upgrade of the pool hall lighting. To complete the upgrade a further 35 Hi Power LED flood 720W 5500K luminaires are to be fitted which complement the existing LED fittings. The existing luminaires are 2 phase, the wiring is to be reconfigured to accommodate the proposed single-phase LED fittings. While it is intended to utilise the existing supply cabling, the existing IEC 60309 style 2 phase sockets are to be replaced with IEC 60309 style 16 amp single-phase sockets. The new fittings are to be modified to accept the mounting centres of the existing fittings and 16amp single-phase plugs fitted to the tail lead. Existing luminaire control gear to be removed. The distribution boards are to be modified to accept single-phase residual current devices. 10- number of the 35 mounting positions of the new installation have already been converted to single phase leaving 25 positions to be modified. All works to be installed, tested and commissioned in accordance with the current edition of BS7671. Contractor to be registered with an approved body such as NICEIC or similar. Health & Safety- all works to be safely carried out in accordance with the CDM regulations 2015. Contractor to provide all and any safety, access and lifting equipment required to complete the works. Working in a pool hall environment. The Contractor is to provide a Construction Phase Plan including Risk Assessments and Method Statements highlighting how the works will be delivered in a national swimming pool facility and what measures will be taken to eliminate the risk of pool contamination. All of the work within the pool hall shall be carried out between the hours of 10:30 pm and 5:30 am. The Contractor shall ensure that the work area within the pool hall is spotlessly cleaned by 05:30 am ready for public swimming. The Contractor shall programme the works to be completed over a maximum of 7 consecutive nights. The Contractor is to allow for protection of the tiled floors, any damage to tiled surfaces caused by the contractor during the works shall be repaired at the contractors expense. A twelve months defects liability period shall commence on official handover. Luminaires to carry a 5 year warranty. Full information is available within the tender documents.

Description of the goods or services required
