The National Procurement Service on behalf of the Welsh Ministers has let a multi supplier Framework Agreement for the provision of a daily weather forecasting services to potentially all Unitary Authorities and Trunk Road Agencies in Wales.
Provide real time and weather forecast information and support to enable decision making for appropriate precautionary and reactive treatments to be undertaken during the winter months or to undertake advance planning and preparation in advance of severe weather at other times to ensure the effective operation of the transport network.
The framework duration will be 4 years.
The following are the parties who will be able to utilise the Framework Contract:
- Welsh Government and its trunk road agencies
- All unitary authorities within Wales

This procurement is for the award of a new Framework Agreement for the supply of All Wales Adverse Weather Forecast Services to the public sector in Wales. The framework will require suppliers to provide weather forecasting and other services in order to assist the Welsh Government, their trunk road Agents and the Unitary Authorities in Wales to manage and operate the road network in Wales during adverse weather conditions.
