VI.3) Additional information
Swansea University, with funding provided by the European Regional Development Fund via the Welsh European Funding Office, is planning to procure a supercomputing capability to the ASTUTE2020 operation, a research program for the economic development of West Wales and the Valleys.
The supercomputing system will be used by multiple users from Swansea University. With the exception of planned and unplanned downtime, the facility will typically be available (with access to both computing capability and data) and in use 24/7 throughout each year of operation. The supercomputing system to be considered will be located at Swansea University Bay Campus.
The tender was split into two lots as the budget of GBP416,666.67 ex VAT would be available up to 29/07/16 after which the budget would decrease to GBP250,000.00. All tenderers were able to meet the deadline for Lot 1. As such Lot 1 was selected.
