Short description of the contract or purchase(s)
The focus of the Increasing BME Employment, Tackling BME Economic Inactivity Project is to mentor, signpost and support 949 individuals from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) and European Economic Migrant (EEM) backgrounds to gain sustainable employment.
The project has been delivered in its current model since September 2011 with a planned completion date of 30th June 2013. Having exceeded its original targets in terms of participant numbers, the regular and steady flow of referrals received demonstrating that the relationship and expertise of the consortium is acknowledged by both BME communities and referral partners, the project undertook another re-profiling exercise in April 2013 and received extended funding to the 31st August 2014 date.
We aim to have this project evaluated by an independent contractor because of the independent perspective they can provide, even though this project falls below the threshold for a mandatory external evaluation.
