Abstract
Swansea University, with funding provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) via the Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO), is planning to procure a cyber-physical system comprising a multi-sensory dexterous robotic hand including a control PC and associated software for the ASTUTE2020, ASTUTE EAST and IMPACT operations
The multi-sensory dexterous robotic hand will be operated and used by Swansea University in the context of the ASTUTE2020, ASTUTE EAST and IMPACT operations in the theme of Manufacturing Systems Engineering. The equipment is required to enable research into Robotics in Manufacturing as part of the Manufacturing Systems Engineering Adaptive Smart Specialisation of ASTUTE 2020 and Robotics and Automation under Future Manufacturing Technologies as part of IMPACT and ASTUTE East. The robotic hand needs to be fitted onto and compatible with a KUKA robot, model LBR iiwa 7 R800 and include the control PC and associated software. ASTUTE2020 is to be funded until 30/06/2020; warranty and services included in the tender will refer to this date.
