Abstract

Powys County Council is seeking to appoint the Principal Contractor for the development of 22 social houses, comprising of eight semi-detached houses, two semi-detached dormer bungalows and 12 semi-detached houses. The land is located on a former livestock market on Gorn Road, Llanidloes, SY18 6DE. The development is to utilise a timber frame solution in line with the Council's Wood Encouragement Policy, and it is expected the dwellings will be insulated to a level 16% above normal building regulations to help combat fuel poverty. It is anticipated that the contract will be awarded in March, with works complete by late-2021. Bidders must meet the requirements published in the Contract Notice. These represent the basic business requirements of the Council (the "Minimum Requirements"): Registration with CHAS or equivalent approved scheme. Constructionline registration to a minimum Level 2 (Silver) Status, with work categories and category values appropriate to this project and value, by the date of tender return.
