The service will provide a single, integrated support service to adult carers residing in the Wakefield District including one-to-one casework support, information, and advice and guidance in a number of areas, including wellbeing, financial, and social support. The service would host a number of peer support groups, and administers my time grants, grants to carer groups and carers personal budgets on behalf of the Council. The service would be key in identifying new carers, with continual engagement activities across the district, and carer support workers based in GP surgeries, hospitals, and connecting care hubs.
