Abstract

Wrexham Adult Social Care Department is seeking to commission a provision for adults with learning or physical disabilities to enable them to access meaningful employment or volunteering opportunities within their local community. The aim is to support individuals to stay healthy, independent and lead fulfilled lives through an active local vocational offer. The successful provider should be person centered in their approach and be flexible when agreeing outcomes with the individual that aims to maximize their wellbeing and independence in relation to their vocational aspirations. The service must be coproductive and individuals will be encouraged to engage to the shaping of the service they are accessing. In the short term (the first year) we would expect that any potential provider would focus on developing the market and build a strong network and partnerships throughout the local area with particular importance placed on progression pathways to nurture skills and provide support, to reach their personal goals. In the longer term citizens who access the vocational support are then helped into meaningful paid employment that enhances their aspirations. To achieve this it would also include volunteering and educational programmes to allow them to reach their vocational goals. We would be keen to hear from those organisations who would be interested in developing a local offer working with local businesses and employers that might be available to citizens by accessing relevant work based placements. The Local Authority is posting this notice to ascertain the level of interest in the market to provide this service with a view to a full tender exercise. If you feel that your organisation has the capability to deliver this contract please email Sian.Milwicz@wrexham.gov.uk to express your interest or if you have any further questions about the information contained within this notice.
