Undertaking of Improvement Works at Y Lanfa, Welshpool, Powys

Description of the goods or services required

Powys County Council is seeking to appoint a contractor to undertake refurbishment of the Y Llanfa building and associated listed Canal side cottages at Y Lanfa, The Wharf, The Canal Road, Welshpool, SY21 7AQ.

Works to include creating additional floor space under the canopy area of Y Lanfa, museum remodelling, upgrade of heating systems, refurbishment and repair of canal side cottages, resurfacing of the wharf area.

This project is funded by Levelling Up Funding and works must be completed and invoiced by no later than 31st March 2025.

Minimum standards and qualification required

The Minimum Requirements of the tender are as follows:

Constructionline Level 2 Silver registered, with work categories relevant to the subject matter of the contract.

Registered with Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSiP) accredited scheme.

All on-site operatives to have received Asbestos Awareness training.

Demonstrable experience of delivering contract(s) of a similar nature.

Bidders are required to pass a financial assessment of your company accounts undertaken in accordance with instruction provided in the Financial Assessment Information document.

Bidders are required to have, or to agree to put in place insurance to the following levels:

Public & Product Liability Insurance - £5,000,000

Employer’s Liability Insurance - £5,000,000

Professional Indemnity Insurance - £5,000,000 per claim

Acceptance of the terms and conditions (JCT Intermediate Building Contract with Contractors Design 2016 and Schedule of Amendments).
