INFORMATION NOTICE - HOLYHEAD LEVELLING UP FUND DURATION OF WORKS - JANUARY 2023 TO MARCH 2025 1. PURPOSE OF NOTIFICATION The Isle of Anglesey County Council, working in partnership with a range of local delivery partners, would like to identify construction contractors interested in tendering formally to deliver parts of a £22.5 million package of UK Government Levelling Up Fund (LUF) capital projects in the town of Holyhead. In order to provide a better understanding of the individual projects, timescales and services required, The Isle of Anglesey County Council would like to invite contractors to a “Meet The Buyer” event at the Trearddur Bay Hotel (LL65 2UN), on the 6th July 2023. The engagement event will be hosted by the County Council’s LUF delivery team and partners, providing an opportunity to speak informally to contractors about the projects and timescales prior to going out to tender. 2. CONTEXT AND DETAILS OF THE WORK REQUIRED In January 2023, the Isle of Anglesey County Council were successful in securing £22.5 million for Levelling Up Funding to UK Government, to reverse the decline of Holyhead town Centre by providing investment to local organisations. The delivery partners on the project are: • The Ucheldre Arts Centre - a substantial extension to provide better facilities and greater capacity to enable this key cultural institution to grow its programme and reach more people. • The Church in Wales – (1) St Cybi’s Church, the Grade 1 listed star of Holyhead’s heritage assets, will expand into a community hub, helping local people and bringing more activity into the heart of the town. (2) A renovation of Eglwys Y Bedd to transform the space into a stylish café providing employment and training opportunities in hospitality and catering in a heritage space • Holyhead Town Council – (1) A substantial extension to the Empire Play Centre, the town’s main indoor attraction, to cater for increasingly higher demand; (2) Newry Beach Frontages - improved facilities for locals and visitors alike, to access and enjoy the town’s seafront. • Môn CF – Vacant Property Programme - Môn CF have purchased two of the largest and most prominent vacant properties in the two centre and will renovate them to create vibrant new community uses. • Isle of Anglesey County Council – (1) Townscape Transformation, extending a highly successful programme of refurbishing dilapidated town centre heritage properties - reversing the decline of the town centre (2) Roman Fort and Swift Square - the public realm around St Cybi’s will be transformed with upgraded visitor facilities including a viewing platform. EVENT DETAILS The meet the buyer will be an open event held in the meeting rooms at the Trearddur Bay Hotel, between 09:30 and 14:00. Presentations from the IACC Levelling Up Fund Officers and delivery partners will last between 10:00-12:00. Lunch will be provided for all attendees between 12:00-13:00 and during this time contractors will be welcomed to speak to project owners about the projects to get a better understanding of the project, timescales and any other requirements ahead of going out to tender. The event will finish at 14:00. 5.
