Abstract

Swansea University's Chemistry Department wishes to purchase a Steady State Spectrometer with microplate, temperature control and Phosphorescence Lifetime Capability available for use University-wide, particularly relevant to Biosciences and Medical School. Postgraduate students, research staff. Undergraduate (e.g. final year research project) under close supervision. The aim of the purchase is to provide luminescence intensity and lifetime (phosphorescence) capabilities for small molecule characterisation, bio-assays and biomolecular-binding, with the purpose to perform luminescence emission intensity characterisation; phosphorescence lifetime characterisation; small molecule/biomolecule binding assays in well plate format; bioassays on cell extracts.
