Description of the contract
Funding has been secured to appoint a consultant to create a strategic Overview Plan for Greenfield Valley which:
1. Identifies potential uses, and appropriate locations for them, across the entire site to improve the site’s attractiveness to users and visitors and facilitate its improved management. These uses to include those identified in this specification and ideas generated by the successful tenderer.
2. Proposes ways in which the scheduled monuments can be protected, enhanced, interpreted, repaired, restored and/or re-used
3. Identifies the current main biodiversity attributes of the site’s various landscapes and water habitats, and describes how these can be protected and/or enhanced
4. Identifies the current landscape characteristics of the site and describes how these can be maintained and/or enhanced to improve the long term attractiveness of the site
5. Identifies the ways in which, whilst delivering the other requirements, the income that can be obtained from the site can be increased to subsidise its maintenance whilst having regard to the fact that there is currently free access to most of the site and that there are low income communities in the immediate vicinity.
Stage 2 of the project moves on to looking at sixteen of these areas in more detail, followed by eight design specifications
