Darganfod Gilfach Exploring Gilfach Brief for site masterplan and implementation of interpretation at Gilfach Nature Reserve Please email darylle@rwtwales.org for a detailed brief. 1. Introduction We are pleased to have received funding for a project called Exploring Gilfach (Darganfod Gilfach in Welsh) which will run from Sept 2016 to Dec 2018. The project aims to help a wider range of people enjoy the reserve and appreciate its significant natural and cultural heritage. In 2015, as part of the development phase of the Exploring Gilfach project, we commissioned an interpretation strategy for Gilfach to help define and guide our work for the next ten years. The strategy and project activity plan can be found on the RWT website http://rwtwales.org/ under ‘Exploring Gilfach’. As part of the project delivery, we now wish to contract a consultancy to work with us to refine the strategy into a site plan and then implement the interpretation plan over the following 11 months. The contract will be with Radnorshire Wildlife Trust and will run from 1st December 2016 to 31st January 2018. The maximum fee payable is £50,000+VAT including all subcontractors. The contract will be a 2-stage approach. Stage 1 (1st December 2016 to 28th February 2017) will be the development of a detailed, costed, time-scaled interpretative masterplan for Gilfach. Stage 2 (1st March 2017 to 31st January 2018) will be implementation of the masterplan and providing quality control on a programme of activities for volunteers that will contribute to the interpretation. The deadline for tendering is 12 midday on Monday 24th October. Shortlisting will be completed by November 9th and interviews will be held on Friday November 18th.
