Abstract

The Welsh Government is seeking bids from suitably experienced software developers / providers to create and manage a desktop booking system and app for the Welsh Government to enable passengers to book journeys and pay for tickets in advance of travel on the Welsh Government funded TrawsCymru® bus network. The desktop booking system and App should also provide a facility which enables passengers to track their bus in real time using a SIRI data feed generated by electronic ticket machines on board the buses. The same data feed will also provide information to the passengers on how busy the buses are through a passenger counting facility.

The Welsh Government have provisionally allocated £25,000 for the initial development of the App (Phase I). A desk top version is also required to enable our telephone booking contact centre to handle bookings.

Previous Experience

Submissions should clearly set out what previous recent experience companies have at developing and supporting software for coach and bus travel companies. We will be placing a heavy weighting on the assessment of bids on this criteria.
