II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The University wishes to tender for the appointment of a Contractor for the provision of planned maintenance services and reactive maintenance works for heating, ventilation and associated plant within the University’s premises, in accordance with the requirement and provision contained within this document.
It is the University’s intention to award this contract to one provider but reserves the right to award the contract to more than one service provider should we so choose.
The contract will comprise of planned and reactive maintenance services to the following:
- Wet system heating plant including pumps, actuating valve and solenoids etc.
- Portable hot water heating plant stored and instantaneous
- High level radiant and indirect air heating plant
- Direct air heating plant
- Heating distribution pipework fittings and equipment
- Mains water distribution pipework, fittings and equipment
- Gas distribution pipework, fittings and equipment
- Water pressurisation plant
- Air handling units and fans
- Distribution ductwork, fittings and equipment
- Storage tanks, cisterns and clarifiers
- Hot and cold-water distribution pipework, fittings and equipment
- Swimming pool heating and ventilation plant
- Swimming pool plant
- HVAC electrical control equipment (excluding BMS network equipment)
- Over door heaters

Description of renewals:
There will be an option to extend the contract for a further 12 months. The extension will be offered only at the University’s sole discretion and based upon consistent high levels of performance, contract efficiency and development as well as commercial competitiveness.
