Total quantity or scope of tender
The Internal panelling supply is part of a major project to construct a new building for milk processing plant at the Haverfordwest site. The installation of the panelling will be delivered in conjunction with other major civil works on site but splits into distinct phases with work being carried out by other suppliers engaged by the Purchaser and at the same time that the exterior cladding is being installed.
The wall and ceiling panelling must be supplied and installed to meet current food safety standards and regulations and to manufacturer standards.
The works will be carried out as part of a Notified CDM project.
The requirements of this tender are to design, supply and install on site the internal panelling for the proposed milk processing facility as per the issued drawings.
The extent of the panelling is to provide a foodsafe face to the entire milk processing facility, the panelling is also to be installed to comply with the fire officers and insurance company recommendations, please note the information required to comply with this on the attached drawings.
The panel thicknesses for both the walls and ceiling have been pre-determined, the panel manufacturer has also been pre-determined.
The steelwork drawings of the building have been issued to provide the support for the panelling system, only primary members are to be used to support the panels.
The detail at the base of the panels allows for the panels to sit within a stainless steel kerb, concrete kerb and onto the floor, the details for the plinths has been provided in the Powell Dobson drawings.
Within the wall and ceiling panels there will be a need to cut holes in the panels for electrical services, mechanical services, process pipework and ventilation ductwork. For the purposes of this quotation we would request that the panelling contractor make an allowance for a return visit to patch and seal up to 100 holes from 40-200mm diameter through walls and ceiling. An allowance must also be made to form three openings in the ceiling above the milk processing hall for three large diameter ducts. The diameter of the ducts would be between 600mm and 1200mm, the work to provide the support to the ceiling panels should be accommodated in this cost.
The cost for this section of work should be shown independent to the main panelling costs.
In the walls of the building, there will be door openings required for internal and external doors, the supply of the personnel and all other doors will be issued as a separate package, the cutting of the openings and flashing should be included in this scope of supply.
All access equipment, netting and edge protection system and lifting equipment is to be included as part of the tender.
The client will supply welfare arrangements for the work, any accommodation required for storage should be provided by the contractor.
Interested parties are recommended to request a full specification pack to review and be able to tender accurately.
