Abstract

Global Wales is seeking expressions of interest (EOIs) from suitably qualified and experienced suppliers to undertake a research project that will provide a comprehensive analysis of distinctive assets within Wales’ Higher Education (HE) sector with emphasis on learning, teaching, partnerships and research. The objective of the report is to highlight to a local and global audience the areas of excellence and innovation where Wales has a distinctive contribution to make on the global stage which can secure cut through in a crowded international marketplace. It is intended that this research will help inform the positioning and promotion of Wales’ HE sector in overseas markets, providing valuable information and briefing material for overseas British Council, HMG, Welsh Government staff and others. The report will provide a detailed profile of the sector and establish comparisons to the rest of the UK, and at a European and international level, and provide a demonstrable evidence base of national-level assets. This should provide an evidence-based platform to encourage transnational connections between academic institutions and systems.
