Additional Information

NLW has organised crowdsourcing projects over the past decade, including Wales 1900 and GB1900, (websites for transcribing OS Maps from around 1900 AD), Cynefin (a website for transcribing Tithe maps and documents), and the currently ongoing NLW Crowd, a platform for the annotation of various documents and images

While crowdsourcing projects are a good way of completing certain tasks which cannot be achieved by machines, NLW is also seeking additional benefits arising from the way crowdsourcing promotes engagement with audiences and can get more people involved in Library activities.

NOTE this is key for the Library, we are aiming to develop our own group of volunteers and not rely on a supplier to provide existing pools of volunteers outside Wales.
