Abstract

This Speculative Notice is for sourcing prospective suppliers for support in High Voltage (HV) commissioning of the new railway electrification infrastructure on the Core Valley Lines (CVL). This support will require personnel to: - - Complete HV switching - Undertake live line testing and application - Removal of earths following approved test plans Support is also required in preparation of documentation including switching schedules, section proving and short circuit testing plans. Commissioning work will be undertaken over 4 months starting around the 20th May 2023, with on-site support required for approximately 22 days over this period. Documentation will need to be prepared and approved before 20th May 2023. Support will be required at various locations from Cardiff up to Abercynon and Merthyr Tydfil. Companies will be required to hold RISQS approval. Individuals undertaking distribution switching will be required to hold Network Rail Level A/B competency (minimum 4 required). Individuals undertaking OLE switching to hold Network Rail Nominated Person competency (Min 10 persons), these will need to be accompanied by Authorised Persons. Network Rail approved live line testers, earthing poles and earths will be required in terms of specialist equipment. Previous experience of large scale HV commissioning on UK railway projects is essential to be considered for these works, with case studies likely to be required. Good afternoon,

We would be grateful for your answers to the following question set as part of this speculative notice.

Answers required back by email to matthew.brown4@amey.co.uk by COP Friday the 10th of February 2023.

Q1 – Please confirm you have capacity to undertake the stated scope of works within the timescales proposed. If you do not have capacity, please advise if you have any alternative solution(s).

Please also confirm you have tendering resource capability to take part in a procurement event commencing circa end of February 2023.

Q2 - Please advise if you have an existing presence in the South Wales area. If not, please advise as to your approach to delivering the works (e.g. satellite offices).

Q3 - Please provide a list of RISQS accreditations you hold pertaining to the works.
