II.2.4) Description of the procurement
he provision of domiciliary care and support to adults experiencing mental ill health within a supported living service at a newly built development of apartments in Malvern Drive, Cardiff.
The building is owned by Linc-Cymru Housing Association and consists of a four storey building which has 12 self-contained apartments. One apartment located on the top level will be used by staff.
The main principles of supported living are that people experiencing mental ill health are able to live as independently as possible, renting their own home and having control over the support they receive, how they live their lives and achieve their personal goals through the domiciliary care and support service.
The scheme will offer vulnerable adults experiencing mental ill health the chance to improve their quality of life and increase their independence. In many cases the individuals accessing this service will move out of inappropriate and more costly residential settings.
The provider will effectively manage services and value for money through delivering high quality, strategically planned and personalised services which are well managed, reliable, cost effective and work well with other support and care services. The provider is required to put the people using the service at the heart of service development and delivery.
The provider is responsible for the provision of personal domiciliary care and support within the scheme to the people who are eligible for these services.
The personal domiciliary care and support service will operate during day time and evening hours with a staff presence during night time hours, 7 days a week 365 days a year
