Abstract

The North Wales Economic Ambition Board (EAB) will be commissioning delivery of its Growth Deal projects over the coming years. Ahead of releasing these opportunities, it would like to obtain views from the supply chain to support successful delivery of the projects and will consider the feedback received to help with further decision making. This notice is not a call for competition but serves as an advertisement of a market engagement briefing session and subsequent market engagement questionnaire. For the avoidance of doubt, this notice and any responses relating to it, do not serve as a call for competition and are not part of a formal procurement process. Any comments, indications of interest, participation, or non-participation by any organisation at this stage will not influence the process, selection or award decision for any future procurement, nor will it be taken as an organisation's committed position. Participation in the sessions will be at each organisation’s own cost. No expense in responding to this market engagement will be reimbursed by EAB. The aim of the Growth Deal is to build a more vibrant, sustainable, and resilient economy in North Wales, building on our strengths to boost productivity while tackling long-term challenges and economic barriers to inclusive growth. It is a £1.1 billion investment in the region, to be delivered over 15 years through a partnership of the six local authorities of North Wales together with the regional academic partners - the University of Bangor, Glyndwr University, Coleg Cambria and Grŵp Llandrillo Menai. It seeks to create at least 3,400 – 4,200 jobs and generate at least £2 billion in net additional Gross Value Added (GVA). Further detail on pipeline projects will be sent on registration for this event. The Early Market Engagement event is scheduled to be held via Zoom on Friday December 3rd 2021, from 10am to 12:30pm. The agenda is subject to change but is anticipated to cover: • Introduction to the Growth Deal • Growth Deal approach to procurement & social value • Growth Deal approach to skills • Growth Deal approach to net zero and biodiversity • Opportunities in construction / equipment • Opportunities in services / utilities • Next steps and wrap up If your organisation is interested in attending this market engagement briefing session, please confirm your interest through this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/digwyddiad-ymgysylltu-cynnar-ar-farchnad-early-market-engagement-event-tickets-203875195197. We would also encourage interested bodies to sign up for the 2021 National Social Value Conference Wales running from 16 - 17 November 2021. This Early Market Engagement event may or may not progress to subsequent engagement stages including, but not limited to, further online sessions, in-person workshops and calls for competition. There is no guarantee that the market engagement will progress into a procurement event and participation in this market engagement process will not support or hinder supply chain involvement in any future procurements event relating to the EAB.
