Elan Visitor Centre Redevelopment

Summary
The Elan Valley Lakes Project has been designed to strengthen the sustainable tourism offer in Mid Wales, create a world-class destination and boost economic growth. It is the anchor sustainable tourism project within the Mid Wales Growth Deal portfolio.
  • Expansion of the existing facility to avoid problems associated with overcrowding at peak times and in some instances closure;
  • New exhibition and Planetarium to tell the stories of Elan Valley, its Dark skies and Celtic Rainforest and support edutainment;
  • Larger café which is orientated to maximise views of the dam and river;
  • New toilets, Changing Places facility and upgrade of wastewater infrastructure;
  • Outdoor seating; and
  • EV chargers and Car park improvements
