Procurex Wales Event

The largest meeting of Public sector and Private sector businesses took place at Cardiff City Hall on18 March for the first Procurex event to take place in Wales.
Over 500 delegates, 30 speakers and 40 exhibitors attended.
It was a unique opportunity for both the Public and Private sector to:
• enhance their knowledge of the latest initiatives and developments in collaborative procurement practices
• view and meet with over 40 supplier’s exhibiting their businesses at their stands
• gather information about EU compliant contracts and frameworks available in Wales
• become better informed about the tendering process
• receive support regarding how the Sell2wales portal works
• learn about the importance of Community Benefits in public procurement
It was a successful day for all involved and especially the Welsh Government who sponsored and organised the event.
Both Business Wales and Sell2Wales were big hits with businesses as both had a full complement of staff and advisors offering advice and support.
There was a central pavilion that EST staff provided advice and guidance from whilst a Business Wales Support zone offered support and services to businesses.
Individuals surveyed from the event showed that:
• 99% said it was necessary, important or very important to engage with the supplier and/or buyer community and experience the latest solutions/services
• 96% rated the topics in the conference as good or excellent
• 94% said the overall exhibition was good or excellent
• 83% said the layout of the event was good or excellent
• 79% said the range of products and services on display were good or excellent
