Public Sector Procurement Support

WRAP Cymru is working to assist public sector organisations in Wales by incorporating sustainability into their commercial strategies and procurement activities. The Welsh public sector spends approximately £6 billion each year on goods and services. As such, there is a significant opportunity for public bodies to use procurement positively to achieve beneficial environmental, economic and social outcomes and to help deliver the ‘Wales We Want’ objectives of the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act.

The primary aim of the support programme is to drive the market for recycled content and re-used goods, and in doing so, raise awareness, promote a more long-term sustainable approach to procurement and demonstrate, through showcasing best practice examples, leadership shown by public sector organisations in more sustainable procurement. For further information please visit the WRAP website. To find out how to sign up to ‘The Green Growth Pledge’ which provides a practical way for businesses to demonstrate their positive impact on the people and places around them and join a growing community of forward-thinking organisations, visit the Business Wales Green Growth Pledge page
