Superfast Cymru 2

The Welsh Government is working to bring fast, reliable broadband to every property in Wales.

Our current 'Superfast Cymru' programme is in the process of developing a nationwide superfast broadband infrastructure. This programme, which is bringing superfast broadband access to vast parts of Wales which otherwise wouldn’t receive it,  is due to end in June 2017. There is still more work to do to reach the remaining few premises in Wales which we plan to address through a further phase of activity. Subject to final agreement of funding, a procurement exercise for this activity is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2017.

A Market Information Day was held in Cardiff in December 2016 and the presentation slides and Q&A Summary from the event can be found at the link below.  In order to inform the potential eligible premises to be covered under any subsequent procurement exercise, an Open Market Review commenced in January 2017.

The team is keen to hear from all interested parties / stakeholders who wish to help inform and shape the proposed procurement exercise.  If you have any ideas / suggestions or wish to meet the team in person please get in touch at
