Bridgend County Borough Council has to procure a service which will assist service users who reside within Bridgend County Borough who are in poverty or at risk of poverty due to any number of reasons, which may include:

• Debt problems

• Financial difficulty

• Unemployment (claiming benefits, including Universal Credit (UC))

• Inability to budget or manage finances effectively

• Those experiencing ‘in work poverty’

• Those requiring information and support to undertake employment better off calculations.

The service will assist the Council to fulfil its duties under The Housing (Wales) Act 2014, Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 and Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015, and assist the Council in supporting those claiming Universal Credit.
