Abstract

The purpose of this tender is to obtain a fixed rate price and illustrated layouts for the supply and installation of new playground equipment and where applicable safety surfacing and other features. Please utilise the Key Considerations for New Play Areas outlined within this document, to aid the design choices. To aid the Contractor with planning, enabling and installation, an allowance of up to 16 weeks has been allocated for this contract. The maximum budget of £18,000 (exclusive of VAT) is available and this is to include all design work, removals and disposals, safety surfacing, new equipment and installation. • Low level and high-level sensory experiences – be imaginative e.g. tactile, audio, visual etc.

• Rocking/spinning/bouncing experiences to suit varied sizes and abilities

• Climbing experiences to include low and multi-level experiences not just height driven.

It is envisaged that the layout and equipment selection will complement the space.

The area is play destination for many. It is therefore imperative that designs are imaginative. Please visit the site to discuss the layout and any know ground conditions with Geoff Williams.

Supply and install the following:

Essential Equipment

• Multiplay incorporating as many play opportunities as possible to be installed suitable upto 14yrs (Slide, Climbing Wall, Pole and Rope Net multi access points to include one point for easy access points) – Promoting; Climbing, Balancing, Communicating, Exploring, Interaction and Challenge. Climbing experiences to include low and multi-level experiences not just height driven. Offers a variety of access points to accommodate different needs and abilities to include a gradual incline for ease of access that may also include a combination of ropes/climbing wall as part of the incline. Together with a wet pour, stand-alone surface with graphics to help with the theme i.e. tracks etc.

Non Play Items

- 2no Steel Litter Bins with lids

Safety Surfacing

- A durable rubber safety surface that allows adequate drainage, whilst creating ease of access to all equipment. The rubber safety surface is to include a minimum 150mm Type 1 mot sub base.

Optional equipment

- If budget and design allows, we welcome additional items that will be considered to be innovative and exciting for the benefit of teenagers.
