Abstract

The Bangor University Fuel Fabrication Facility has been funded through the EPSRC’s National Nuclear User Facility 2a scheme and will provide a centre for the mechanistic understanding of fuel manufacture in the UK for academia and industry to use to advance novel nuclear fuel technologies in fusion and fission. The pellet press will be a central piece of equipment that will enable the successful manufacture of ceramic bodies for sintering studies.
