Abstract

Actif Sport & Leisure is Carmarthenshire County Council's leisure service which operates across the County. The service comprises of 6 Leisure Facilities which includes 5 swimming pools. Pre-Covid, there was a membership base of over 3900 with an annual income of £1.8 million. However, the recovery process has been slower than expected and currently have only 2150 members with income only recovering to 62% of pre covid figures. Group exercise has shown to have grown in popularity following the easing of Covid restrictions and is a proven retention tool. Our existing fitness classes are very popular, and we are looking to further enhance and compete with our local partners by teaming up with a globally recognised brand.
