Description of the goods or services required
The University of South Wales (USW) is a Higher Education establishment with facilities located on several sites across South Wales and is seeking a heritage and conservation experienced and accredited contractor to undertake external and internal repair works on the designated Grade II Listed building located on the Glyntaff campus.
Alfred Russell Wallace Building which is a designated Grade II Listed Building. (Cadw Ref: 24864. Note that the listing description refers to the building as the Glamorgan Centre for Art & Design, but the contemporary name is Alfred Russell Wallace Building)

Total quantity or scope of tender
USW’s heritage buildings have recently been surveyed and a Conservation Management Plan (CMP) produced to enable well informed decisions on protecting these assets. Based on the CMP and survey findings USW have produced a schedule of work for each building that must be undertaken following good conservation practice, guidance, and appropriate legislation.
The summary of works is in the underlying table and full detail can be seen in the attached supporting works specification (Appendices B).

Please note that the works included within the specification are subject to the availability of funding, it is the intention of USW to undertake all identified works but also reserves the right to omit works subject to budget constraints.

3 Conditions for Participation

Minimum standards and qualification required
Fulfill the requirements of the project in full;
The experience of relevant contractors in undertaking similar works to Statutory Protected Listed Buildings;
To include relevant professional competencies and qualifications;
Methodology for completing the work (for example Timber Repairs, Repointing, Render Repairs) that complies with accepted conservation standards;
Provide the information as requested in the quality assessment criteria. Robust and full answers must be provided;
Meet the critical programme deadline;
Hold the relevant level of insurances, as stipulated and provide evidence of;
Undertake a site visit in line with current restrictions;
Fully price up the tender as stipulated in the Bill of Quantities pricing document

Additional Information
Your tender submission must be uploaded to the Sell2Wales portal Postbox.
Your submission must be received by the closing time and date of midday, Monday 21st March 2022.
