"C" Corridor Laboratories Refurbishment

Description of the goods or services required

The works contract will comprise alterations and refurbishments to the following rooms in the main campus at Wrexham Glyndwr University;

C12 Laboratory into a “wet chemical” modern laboratory including demolitons and alterations, new fit out including floors, ceilings, walls, lab furniture, fume extract, ventilation and lighting and small power

C12a demolitions and alterations and fit out to form a new laboratory preparation area

C14 laboratory into a “forensic science laboratory” new fit out including floors, ceilings, walls, lab furniture, ventilation and lighting and small power

The works include the following activities;

1. Removal of some asbestos to ceiling in lab preparation space, display cabinets in corridor and elsewhere as detailed in the asbestos survey

2. Demolition & reconfiguration of internal dividing walls to create window openings to the corridors, create drench shower areas, and enlarge the lab preparation space.

3. A mechanical upgrade to improve air management & quality as per detailed specification

4. Full electrical installation to the refurbished areas as per detailed specification

5. Refurbishment as per architectural plans, elevations and specification; to include, flooring, decoration, new suspended ceiling installations & specialist lab furniture provision

The Contract Notice has been advertised on the Sell2Wales website and the process is being conducted under the Open Procedure, which is a single procurement stage procedure that combines the Selection Criteria (Pre-Qualification Questionnaire) and Invitation to Tender Award Criteria into a single process.

The Economic Operator, as defined, is the organisation responding to this Invitation to Tender by submitting a response for the consideration of the Employer, will be will be required to pass the relevant pass / fail selection criteria before their price and quality Invitation to Tender bid submission will be considered in relation to the Award Criteria.
