Expression of Interest to work with First Choice Housing Association in mid Wales and Shropshire

First Choice Housing Association Ltd (“FCHA”) are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified contractors in mid Wales, Shropshire & Telford for the following trades to provide a Day to Day reactive maintenance repairs services:

• General Builder

• Roofer

• Carpenter

• Plumber

• Electrician

• Oil Heating Engineer

• Decorator / Painter

• Landscaping / tree surgery

First Choice Housing Association Limited (“FCHA”) was established in 1988 and is a specialist housing association providing supported housing for vulnerable people throughout Wales, Shropshire and Telford. FCHA is registered under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 and has charitable status.

FCHA provide 344 properties, including permanent leasehold properties and properties for respite or emergency intervention. FCHA is zoned to develop throughout Wales and also owns and manages properties in Shropshire and is now developing in Telford. FCHA manages properties in 21 local authority areas.

FCHA has ambitious growth plans. FCHA has a committed reactive maintenance, planned maintenance and decarbonisation programme. FCHA also has an ambitious development programmes with a target of 48% growth over 5 years.

All contractors who wish to work with FCHA will be required to sign up to our Contractor Code of Conduct and Data Protection Policy.

Tenant satisfaction is FCHA’s service priority and repairs are categorised as follows:

• Emergency Repairs – attendance same day/within 4 hours to make safe with repair completed within 24 hours.

• General Repairs - appointments are made with our tenants for repairs, after liaising with the contractor.

Contractor performance is measured through contact with our tenants with a telephone survey undertaken once repairs have been completed and quarterly contractor meetings with officers of FCHA. Contractors who perform well may also be given the opportunity to tender for planned maintenance projects e.g. kitchen or bathroom replacements.
