Abstract

Following recent winter storms, a section of the existing path running alongside the Afon Llanfairfechan in the Nant Y Coed Local Nature Reserve in Llanfairfechan was washed away. An initial proposal to construct a new riverbank retaining wall and reinstate the path behind the wall was deemed unacceptable by NRW. This project seeks to reinstate access by means of the construction of new timber stepped accesses/ boardwalks over the hillside to the east of the Afon Llanfairfechan and providing a path through the trees that links the two sections of stepped accesses.
