Abstract

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board who are seeking to establish a contract for the provision of Training on Immersive Leadership and Community Organising. Cardiff and Vale UHB vision is for Wales to be a world leader and global authority in the ‘scale and spread’ of improvement, innovation and transformational change within health and social care. The All-Wales Intensive Learning Academy for Innovation in Health and Social Care (ILA:IHSC) will become a beacon for the identification, implementation and evaluation of the science and practice of innovation, transformation, scale and spread in Wales and beyond. The Academy will deliver long-term sustainability and respond to change, providing a dynamic capability for Wales. Delivered through a case-based pedagogy, the ILA will offer an evolving portfolio of flexible, accessible, experiential practice-based learning opportunities and best in class, Masters Level, experiential learning programme for frontline staff at all levels of health and care organisations. II.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Health Board requires a provider who can place individuals in an interactive learning environment, either physically or virtually, to replicate possible scenarios or to teach particular skills or techniques.

Simulations, role play, and virtual learning environments can be considered immersive learning. It should be noted that providers who rely on classroom based teaching will not be considered.

During the contract, the Health Board may require a number of call offs from the provider such as;

- provision of multi-day immersive leadership training experiences for groups of health care leaders as part of wider leadership development programmes,

- short workshops and activities at events and training days,

- sessions on the development and use of immersive leadership training with members of the Cardiff and Vale team.

The Health Board are looking for the following experience within this lot;

- Providers who have significant training and expertise in the provision of immersive leadership training and have a national and international profile in this field.

- Providers should have demonstrable experience of leading and delivering immersive leadership training for complex, high performing teams and settings. Whilst experience of delivery within the health care sector is desirable, the Health Board would welcome interest from providers who can bring experience and guidance from other sectors and translate this into learning for healthcare.

The Health Board requires a provider who can undertake trainings at an Executive and Clinical level.

During the contract, the Health Board may require a number of call offs from the provider such as;

- provision of training on leadership and community organising for groups of leaders as either stand alone events or as part of wider leadership development programmes,

- advice and mentorship to Clinical, Corporate and Executive teams

- development of approaches to community organising on specific topics.

The Health Board are looking for the following experience within this lot;

- Providers with significant demonstrable national and international experience of supporting community organising around complex health and wellbeing topics with credible peer reviewed publication of results.

- Experience may include rural or urban communities, with differing cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board will allow a minimum 10 calendar day standstill period between notifying the award decision and awarding the contract. Unsuccessful tenderers and applicants are entitled to receive reasons for the decision, including the characteristics and relative advantages of the winning bid and the reasons why the tenderer/applicant was unsuccessful.
