Velindre University NHS Trust is looking to procure the Provision of an Investment Agent to advise and manage investments of the Health Board’s Charitable Fund monies.
The Charity requires that the Investment Agent is a qualifying investment manager must be a registered investment advisor under the Investment Advisor Act of 1961, or a bank or insurance company, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority
The Charity requires the successful supplier to manage the funds on behalf of the Charity in accordance with the required Charity Commission and other legal requirements placed on NHS charities.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Velindre University NHS Trust is looking to procure the Provision of an Investment Agent to advise and manage investments of the Health Board’s Charitable Fund monies.
The Charity requires that the Investment Agent is a qualifying investment manager must be a registered investment advisor under the Investment Advisor Act of 1961, or a bank or insurance company, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority
The Charity requires the successful supplier to manage the funds on behalf of the Charity in accordance with the required Charity Commission and other legal requirements placed on NHS charities.
The Charity seeks to maximise the total return on funds held and the Charity seeks to adopt a conservative policy on risk. The Trust and its Trustees recognise that all investment involve an element of risk. In order to mitigate the risk it will be requested that the investment advisor / managers maintain a diversified portfolio of assets in order to protect the Charity’s investments from sudden variations in the market.
The Charity currently holds two investment portfolios, which are held at risk level low and low/ medium risk.
The time horizon for the investment account is between 5 to 7 years.
The total value of the charitable funds currently invested is approximately 6 million GBP and includes asset allocation as set out below
