Abstract

Note - This is not a tender or contract opportunity, but a public notice of a consultation process with providers of local bus services (those operators that run bus services within the Newport City Council area). The transition to a low emission bus fleet will reduce the impact of transport on local air quality and climate change. Newport City Council is considering making funding available to speed up the rate of transition and is consulting with the providers of local bus services to identify opportunities to increase the use of electric buses within the city. This initiative is consistent with Council and Welsh Government policies to decarbonise the public transport fleet. Interested parties should request a consultation form via passenger.transport@newport.gov.uk The deadline for responses to this 1st stage consultation is 24th October 2022.
