Conwy County Borough Council is considering an opportunity to set up a peripatetic service as part of business continuity to respond to urgent demands for care and support in the Conwy area. The service will include provision of personal care and support to individuals living in their own home within the Conwy area. Intentions are for this team to work closely with the Council’s in-house service to enable the re-ablement team to pick up new care packages as part of hospital discharges and respond to urgent requests. Intentions are to set up a block contract.

The peripatetic service will aim to provide short to medium term care and support from few days to few weeks until a long term Provider can be identified. Consideration is given to domiciliary care agencies registered with CIW or recruitment agencies, providing trained and qualified care staff to the Council in order to establish the peripatetic team under the operational management of the In-house Service. At this stage the Council is seeking expressions of interest from registered domiciliary care agencies or recruitment agencies.
